Dog Walking

About Us

I have been a proud owner of numerous dog breeds over the years (fish too!); I have grown up around kitties and have been around small animals/birds/reptiles. Animals are absolutely my life! I give them unconditional love, daily exercise, grooming, play and all natural food and treats! They get the best! If you talk to anyone I know, they'll tell you that I am 'the animal lady'!

A few years ago I worked in a local pet store where I got to deal with puppies, kitties, birds, small animals, reptiles and fish. I thought it was a great learning experience and really enjoyed being around all the animals!

In 2004 I received my diploma from CDI College where I took the Medical Administrative Assistant Course hoping that I could persue my passion in the animal field (starting off as a receptionist in a Vet's office), not realizing that there are actually specific courses out there related to that field. So one day I just thought to myself; what can I do with animals that would benefit everyone? *Ding - A light bulb went off in my head....DOG WALKING/PET-SITTING! It's a great form of exercise, plus I get to be around the things I love! Nature and animals!

This is something I just started up this year (2008) and I want to explore this kind of business; truly follow my heart! I am a young entrepreneur trying to achieve my dreams; making them a reality! I have also attended basic obedience classes with my dogs, so I know a thing or two about the basics when it comes to the pups.

I strongly believe that in addition to the basic needs of food and shelter, a dog needs exercise, social interaction,  mental stimulation and positive attention.

Many of these needs can be met by simply taking your dog for a walk. Walking your dog daily provides it with the attention that it deserves. Perhaps more than anything, our pets simply want our company. Even when you remain home during the day, much of your time is spent doing daily chores, chasing the kids around and what not  rather than interacting with the family pet unfortunately.

Walking your dog is one of the best ways to prevent behavior problems. At least one walk daily helps prevent elimination problems, destructiveness, separation anxiety and other common behavior disorders. With my dogs, it's proving to help with their barking and attitude. The walking is burning off all their excess energy, making them have a more calm/stable mind.

Along with the emotional benefits, there are physical benefits. Walking your dog is the best way to exercise a dog that may not move about much in your home or even in your yard. Just imagine if you were confined to your home and even the back yard (kind of portrays jail). You would go crazy!

Aging pets must be kept as agile and fit as possible but may not be inclined to exercise without encouragement. Even if your pet is active in your yard, it is more active during a walk.

The pleasure of human company is one of your dog's greatest motivations to exercise and with that comes good health, improved behaviour and peace of mind (for everyone)!
